LAKE UNION 10K ANNUAL RUN
Brand Collateral
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The founders of an annual race in Seattle, called the Lake Union 10k, hired me to rebrand the race website including creating a new logo and printed materials to promote the event. The goal was to create a site that would increase participation, inform attendees about various aspects of the race, and provide a simple positive user experience.
THE SOLUTION
My role was to design the desktop and mobile site, along with print and digital assets for promoting the event. I created a styleguide as well as palette colors, logos (for two consecutive years), the website design and production.
Using the old site as a guideline, I worked with the race sponsor to streamline navigation for a better user experience. I chose colors that represented water and sunshine, along with fonts that were simple and clean but reflecting the bright fun style. I created stylized "wave" patterns to highlight the skyline
The logo had to include the Portage Bay logo (leaf) as they're the co-sponsor. I changed the color to match the 10k logo, but the design was given to me. (Dark Blue "Portage Bay" and leaf only).
